Notes 2 Editors

The Notes 2 Editors site is now in tour mode.

Using the control panels on the left hand side you have access to limited content from press releases posted on Notes 2 Editors.

You will see the press releases as editors do, but without the ability to read the entire press release or notes 2 editors, and without access to contact details or the ability to use the site's download function.

Use of the control panels will call press releases (and listings of) to appear in this section of the screen - so use your browser's back arrow to return to this tutorial. Alternatively, print this tutorial.

1. The Go function

Type 690-9104 into the N2E Ref: field and click Go.
This will take you directly to a press release issued on behalf of Monitran. Things to note:

2. View a list of the company's press releases

In the top box of the press release click 'view a list of this company's press releases'. Things to note:

3. Browse - by Company

In the Browse control box, click Company. This produces a list of those press releases made available for tutorial purposes. Registered editors have access to all press releases, which will be sorted by: Company then Break Date then Title.

4. Browse - by Date

In the Browse control box, click Date. This lists the same press releases as before, but this time sorted by: Break Date then Company then Title.

5. Browse - Filtering

In the Browse box, select 'Product' from the drop-down list, and click 'Date'. This produces a list (in reverse chronological order) of the product announcements made available for this tutorial.

With 'Product' still selected, select 'Electronics' from the second drop-down list. Click Date. This refines the Browse and reduces the number of press release.

Experiment with Type, Sector and Browse.

6. Search

By default, N2E searches look in the Titles (and subtitles) and main bodies of the site's press releases. You can though refine your search by ignoring Titles and subtitles, and you can also extend your search into the notes fields of the press releases.

In the search box, type 'test' just below 'For…'. Click search. This lists the press releases (made availble for the tutorial) that include the word 'test' in the title, subtitle, or main body.

Experiment with Search but please note, if searching for more than one word then 'All Words' will locate those press releases that include all words (but not necessarily together), 'Exact Match' will locate press releases that include the words together, and 'Any Word' will locate press releases that include one or more of the individual words.

Please feel free to experiment with a variety of search terms until you are comfortable with the search facility—but please note that, in Tour Mode, part of each press release's Main Body may be suppressed, and all of its Notes field will be hidden, so you may not always be able to verify that your search words are present.
